This program is open to undergraduate students, master’s students, doctoral students, general scholars, and senior scholars, with different funding categories depending on the scholarship type.

Application Requirements
Basic Requirements
-
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good physical and mental health.

Applicants cannot hold other Chinese Government Scholarships simultaneously.
Educational Background and Age Limits
-
Undergraduate students (only for Category A): Must have completed high school education, age under 25.

Master’s students: Must hold a bachelor’s degree, age under 35.
-
Doctoral students: Must hold a master’s degree, age under 40.
Language Requirements
-
Chinese-taught programs: Applicants must meet HSK Level 4 or above.
-
HSK Level 5 or above can directly start degree studies.
-
HSK Level 4 applicants must take a one-year Chinese preparatory course before starting degree studies.

English-taught programs: Applicants must provide proof of English proficiency, such as:

TOEFL 80 or above

IELTS 6.5 or above
-
Applicants without English proficiency certificates must take an English test or interview.

Native English speakers are exempt from providing English test results.

Apply via CSC System:

Log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) Online Application System (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn).

Select Category B and enter CQUPT agency code: 10617.

Fill in the required information and submit the application.

Download and sign the Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form.

Apply via CQUPT System:

Log in to the CQUPT International Student Service System (https://cqupt.17gz.org/).
-
Select Chinese Government Scholarship, complete the online application, and upload all required documents, including the signed application form.

Document Review and Evaluation:
-
After the initial review, CQUPT will conduct an interview or written test.
-
Applicants who pass the evaluation will receive a Pre-admission Letter.

Highest diploma (notarized copy):

Current students must provide a Pre-graduation Certificate indicating expected graduation date.

Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must have notarized translations.

Academic transcripts (including undergraduate, master’s, or Ph.D. studies if applicable).

Research proposal (in Chinese or English):

Master’s applicants: At least 1,000 words.
-
Doctoral applicants: At least 1,500 words (must include research topic, literature review, methodology, and references).

Academic CV (including personal details, education background, research experience, publications, awards, etc.).

Study plan (study goals and academic plans during the program).
-
Two recommendation letters (signed by professors or associate professors).

Copy of passport bio page (valid until at least December 30, 2025).

Non-criminal record certificate.

Foreigner Physical Examination Form (must follow the attached template, valid for six months).

Proof of language proficiency (if applicable).

Pre-admission Letter (issued by CQUPT only after passing the interview).

Other supporting documents (published papers, awards, etc., if applicable).

Study performance certificate (if currently studying in China).
Important Notes

No supervisor acceptance letter is required. The admissions office will forward applications to relevant colleges or supervisors.

Ensure the accuracy of your email and phone number as all communication will be conducted via email.

CQUPT reserves the right to request additional documents if necessary.
Important Information

Scholarship recipients must enroll within the specified period; otherwise, the scholarship will be canceled.

Recipients cannot change their university, major, or study duration after admission.

Annual scholarship reviews are required. Recipients who fail the review may have their scholarship suspended or canceled.
