HOME ECONOMICS
In a modern society where the need for family and community care is growing, the Home Economics program is attracting increasing attention from students. This interdisciplinary program combines social sciences and practical skills to address everyday issues in family and community life.
Program Introduction
Home Economics is an interdisciplinary field that combines education, psychology, management, nutrition, and other disciplines. The program requires students to undergo rigorous basic training in home economics, gain a comprehensive understanding of the basic theories and related subject knowledge, master fundamental research methods in home economics, and develop skills in market planning, operations, and forecasting for the home economics industry.
Students will be able to apply their knowledge to scientifically guide family life and possess the educational ability to teach home life skills. Graduates will be prepared to work in community work, family and urban community life guidance, research and teaching of scientific lifestyles, as well as providing guidance on urban community and family construction and management.
They will be able to perform service and management roles in government departments, communities, companies, and related organizations.
Training Objectives
The education and teaching in this major should adhere to Marxism, with the goal of cultivating students who have a firm political direction, understand and support the policies of the Party and the state, and possess humanistic literacy, scientific spirit, social responsibility, and entrepreneurial awareness. Students should also embody socialist core values, have good physical and mental health, and develop comprehensively in morality, intellect, physical fitness, and aesthetics.
Students will be trained to master the basic knowledge, basic theories, and methods of sociology and related disciplines, have an international perspective and awareness of national conditions, and be capable of analyzing and solving social problems in the context of Chinese society.
Students will also develop cross-cultural communication and self-adjustment skills and acquire the ability to serve and manage society. Graduates will be able to work in government agencies, education, research, culture, ethnicity, religion, media, social organizations, and welfare institutions, or use their knowledge in home economics to start their own business and provide social services.
