The Inorganic Chemistry major is based on the foundation of natural sciences, focusing on the research, design, synthesis, composition, structure, and related properties of new inorganic compounds, inorganic-organic hybrid materials, and inorganic composite materials.
The major emphasizes the theories, fields, and new knowledge concerning inorganic compounds and materials, highlighting the application of fundamental theories such as structural chemistry, coordination chemistry, and thermodynamics in the fields of energy, materials, life sciences, and the environment.
Research directions include functional coordination materials, inorganic materials chemistry, green materials synthesis, polyacid-based supramolecular materials, and energy storage materials and technologies.
Training Objectives

Study Mode and Training Duration
The program applies a full-time study mode. The basic training duration is 3 years (6 semesters), with a maximum duration (including leave) of 6 years. The first two semesters focus on theoretical study, while the last four semesters are dedicated to thesis research and writing. The thesis writing period must not be less than 1 year.

Professional Internship
The program emphasizes the combination of theoretical learning and scientific research training, enhancing experimental skills and practical abilities. Students are required to participate in research projects, complete professional internship courses and related academic activities to improve their ability to solve practical problems.
Training Methods
- Combining learning and scientific research training. Supervisors develop individual training plans based on the curriculum and the principle of teaching according to each student's aptitude, clearly specifying total credits, distribution of compulsory and elective courses, credit allocation per semester, learning and assessment methods, teaching practice, literature reading, research work, and thesis topic scope. The study plan must be completed within the first 3 months after enrollment.
- Combining individual supervisor guidance with guidance from professional groups/research teams to maximize the initiative of supervisors and collective intelligence, broadening students' academic horizons.
