In 2007, the "Nuclear Energy Science and Engineering" discipline under the "Nuclear Science and Technology" subject was approved as a national key discipline. In 2012, it was approved as an innovative team by the Ministry of Education. In 2014, it was approved as the "National Virtual Simulation Center for Nuclear Power Plants and Thermal Power Plants."
In 2015, it was approved as the "Shanxi Province Advanced Nuclear Energy Technology Key Laboratory" and "Shanxi Province Advanced Nuclear Energy Engineering Research Center." Currently, the undergraduate program is a "Ministry of Education Second-Class Featured Major," "GF Featured Discipline Major," and "Shanxi Province Famous Brand Major."
