OIL-GAS STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING

In the context of increasing energy demand, ensuring safety and efficiency in the storage and transportation of oil and gas has become extremely important. The Oil-gas storage and transportation engineering program was created to meet this demand, training engineers with solid technical and management knowledge, along with safety skills. Let's explore this promising field and find out who is suited to pursue it.

Program Introduction

The Oil-gas storage and transportation engineering program aims to train engineers with fundamental and specialized knowledge in the field of oil and gas storage and transportation, mastering modern engineering techniques and management skills. This program covers various aspects such as surface engineering of oil and gas fields, pipeline transportation, tank storage, and related safety management, which are crucial for ensuring national energy security.

It is the only undergraduate program in Guangdong Province, serving primarily the petroleum, petrochemical, and gas industries, and training high-quality application-oriented engineering talents to contribute to regional and national economic development, energy storage, and energy security.

Training Objectives

The Oil-gas storage and transportation engineering program (Petroleum and Natural Gas Processing Engineering direction) aims to cultivate engineers with comprehensive development in ethics, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor, possessing patriotism, social responsibility, good moral character, and physical and mental health.

Graduates will meet the strategic economic development needs of the national oil and gas storage and processing, defense, and trade sectors, as well as the international talent market demand. They will have a solid foundation in oil and gas storage and transportation engineering, strong practical engineering abilities, innovative spirit, and broad international vision, capable of working in technical development, engineering design, production management, and marketing in the oil and gas and related industries.

It is expected that within about five years after graduation, students will have the ability to analyze and solve engineering technical problems related to their professional positions in both industry and academia, adapt to independent and team work environments, understand important laws and ethics, master comprehensive management methods in supervision, environment, industrial safety, and economics, and demonstrate talent and potential in lifelong learning, career development, and leadership.
