Program Introduction

This program studies the mechanical phenomena, motion laws, and testing related to the entire process of weapon launching, flight, and target hitting, integrating advanced technologies in weaponry. To meet the demands of modern warfare and the requirements for long-range and precision weapons, the program offers three specializations: Modern Launch and Control, Missile Flight and Control, and Weapon Systems and Launching Engineering Excellence. Graduates can work in research institutes, military enterprises, and other sectors related to weapon systems design, manufacturing, testing, and management.

Training Objectives

This program aims to cultivate high-level engineering and technical talents who meet the needs of modern socialist construction, with comprehensive development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education. Graduates will be capable of engaging in weapon design research, production, testing and control, usage and maintenance, and reliability and safety evaluation. 

They are expected to master fundamental theories and methods of weapon design, such as internal and external ballistics design, missile flight control technology, and ballistics testing technology. Within five years of graduation, they should be competent in research, design, development, maintenance, and management in the field of weapon engineering.

  1. Moral Cultivation: Possess sound character, high cultural literacy, strong social responsibility, and good professional ethics, firmly following the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
  2. Knowledge Base: Have the basic theories of mathematics and natural sciences, professional knowledge, experimental skills, and analytical research abilities required to solve complex engineering problems in the field of weapon systems and launching engineering.
  3. Engineering Ability: Be able to comprehensively apply learned knowledge and skills to identify, analyze, and study complex engineering problems in the field of weapon systems and launching engineering, proposing reasonable solutions with a certain degree of innovation.

Graduation Requirements

Students in this program will study the basic theories and knowledge of weapon launching, transportation, and related mechanical engineering and automation. They will receive basic training in system design, technical development, product development, experimental testing, and engineering management, acquiring basic abilities in system analysis and synthesis, engineering design and calculation, computer application, and experimental testing. Graduates should acquire the following knowledge and abilities:

  1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply mathematics, natural sciences, engineering fundamentals, and professional knowledge to solve complex engineering problems in internal and external ballistics design, missile flight control, and ballistics testing.
  2. Problem Analysis: Use basic principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences to identify, express, and analyze complex engineering problems in weapon systems and launching engineering through literature research to obtain effective conclusions.
  3. Design/Development Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems in weapon systems and launching engineering, designing weapon systems, components, or processes that meet specific needs, reflecting innovation, and considering social, national defense, health, safety, legal, cultural, and environmental factors.
  4. Research: Conduct research on complex engineering problems in the field of weaponry based on scientific principles and methods, including designing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and synthesizing information to obtain reasonable and effective conclusions.
  5. Use of Modern Tools: Develop, select, and use appropriate technologies, resources, modern engineering tools, and information technology tools for complex engineering problems in weapon systems and launching engineering, including computer prediction and numerical simulation of related issues, understanding their limitations.
  6. Engineering and Society: Analyze and evaluate the impact of professional engineering practices and solutions to complex engineering problems on society, national defense, health, safety, legal, and cultural aspects, understanding the responsibilities involved.
  7. Environment and Sustainable Development: Understand and evaluate the impact of engineering practices on the environment, society, and sustainable development in the field of weapon systems and launching engineering.
